1.  Reiterating The Mission of The Alive with Clive Top 20

The mission of The Alive with Clive Top 20 is to harness the energy and talent of emerging musicians who have been interviewed on Alive with Clive so as to accomplish the following objectives:

  • Provide resources for suffering in the world to be alleviated;

  • Create an enhanced standard of living for as many people as possible;

  • Inspire people to experience full self expression through self actualization.

In reading this Ezine today, and in following developments that will be reported in this Ezine, on my Blog and on Facebook and Twitter in the months ahead, you will learn about the actions that are being taken to accomplish this mission!

2.  What's Happening in The Alive with Clive Top 20

Serotonen continues to enjoy a commanding lead at the top of The Alive with Clive Top 20 Chart over Anthony Melillo and The Melillo Brothers, and is on track to cross the 5,000 vote threshold soon.  Irena Hart remains in third place.

There have been two new additions to The Alive with Clive Top 20 recently:

First, Jason Gisser, who I interviewed on Alive with Clive on November 20, 2009, continues to move up the Chart strongly and is now in 14th place.  Congratulations, Jason!

I've recently had the pleasure of seeing Jason perform live.  He is a powerful, charismatic and dynamic performer who moves audiences at their core and unabashedly shatters all limits to full self expression!

For more information about Jason and to hear some of his songs, go to:

www.jasongissermusic.com and www.myspace.com/jasongisser

Second, Melissa Wrolstad, who appeared on Alive with Clive in September, 2009, has now generated enough votes to make it into The Alive with Clive Top 20.  Melissa is an immensely talented, multi-faceted, musician who plays seven instruments -- the violin, guitar, accordian, ukelele, mandolin, and piano, and percussion instruments too!

In addition, she is fast becoming famous for her amazing, humorous and delightful song she sings with the ukelele called "Tuna Paradise," which is about all the different ways to eat tuna.

If you haven't yet seen the video clip of Melissa singing "Tuna Paradise," you are depriving yourself of a wonderful experience.

3. Jason Gisser's Benefit Concert  for Earthquake Relief in Haiti

My thoughts, prayers and condolences go out to the people of Haiti as they deal with the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that has claimed the lives of so many thousands of people there.  Jason Gisser, who has family in Haiti, is spearheading a benefit concert to provide relief to victims of the earthquake.  The concert will be taking place from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Southside Inn in Mahopac on February 6.

Here's the text of a message Jason sent via Facebook on January 26:

"It is amazing how many people are showing their support and coming together to help the people of Haiti. I have been busy trying to put this together and I just went to the event page and saw that we as of this moment are 170 people strong. That is a huge thing. So thank you all so much. We are going to raise a huge amount of money for UNICEF. And as I said 100% of the proceeds go to Haiti. There will be some great raffle items, and a 50/50. Some great live music, and a moment of silence for all the lives lost. There will be food provided by Southside, and there will also be some traditional Haitian food for everyone to try. I have also ordered some bottles of Haitian Rum we will Raffle off. So thank you again, and keep spreading the word. I'll see you all Feb 6th from 5 - 11 at Southside Mahopac."

In addition to Jason, those who will be performing include Kylie Edmond, Andy Rice, Charlie Sabin and Julie Corbalis.

4.  Turning Votes Into Dollars To Combat AIDS!

On the way to creating a compilation CD to be sold to raise millions of dollars for people suffering from AIDS, and to prevent the further spread of AIDS, in South Africa, if you've been following my posts on Facebook you will have noticed that I have begun to make DVDs of interviews on Alive with Clive of musicians in The Alive with Clive Top 20 available for sale through Kunaki, on the following Web page:

http://Kunaki.com/MSales.asp?PublisherId=122474&PP=1

So far, eight DVDs are available for sale and they are of the interviews of the musicians who currently hold the first eight positions in The Alive with Clive Top 20.

Here is a list of the musicians and the link to the page on which you can order the DVD of their interview:

  1. Serotonen

  2. Anthony Melillo and The Melillo Brothers

  3. Irena Hart

  4. Joe Venice

  5. Kylie Edmond

  6. Allison Scola

  7. Dan Sheehan

  8. Lisa Redford

You'll find all of the DVDs available for sale at http://Kunaki.com/MSales.asp?PublisherId=122474&PP=1

Additional DVDs will be made available for sale in the order in which musicians are positioned in The Alive with Clive Top 20 and on the outside looking in as soon as possible.

In case you're wondering why you might want to own one or more of these DVDs, here are seven reasons:

  • You will develop a much stronger appreciation for and connection to the musician or band featured on the DVD you acquire;

  • You will be inspired by their courage and persistence in doing whatever it takes to fulfill their dreams;

  • When these musicians become famous, these DVDs will be valuable -- imagine how precious a DVD of the first TV interview of The Beatles or Bruce Springsteen is today!;

  • Each DVD includes a segment of timeless wisdom, called "Clive's Words of Wisdom," from me;

  • No assurance can be given that these DVDs will continue to be available on an ongoing basis, so if you get one now, it might be one of only a few that is ever made available -- and if you don't, you might not be able to get the one you want in the future;

  • According to information provided by (RED), every $4 received by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS or (RED) will provide a day's supply of medicine to combat AIDS for ten people with AIDS, and alternatively every $26 raised will enable a child of a pregnant woman with AIDS to be born without the AIDS virus.  Since $4 from the sale of every DVD will go to the Global Fund or (RED), you'll be helping people with AIDS to deal with the virus or to prevent pregnant women with AIDS from transmitting the AIDS virus to their babies at birth;

  • So far, about 21,000 votes have been cast for musicians to be in The Alive with Clive Top 20.  By buying a DVD or two or a few, you'll be helping me to turn these and future votes into dollars and send big checks to the Global Fund or (RED).  That in turn will cause the Global Fund or (RED) to tell their thousands of supporters about the musicians in The Alive with Clive Top 20, help them to become more widely known and in all likelihood cause more DVDs to be sold.  In this way, the foundation will be established for millions of copies of The Alive with Clive Top 20 compilation CD (or a downloadable version) I am creating to be sold.

So, c'mon people now, order your DVDs today at:

http://Kunaki.com/MSales.asp?PublisherId=122474&PP=1

5.  Harmony4Kidz Benefit Concert, Feb. 6, in Westport, CT

Irena Hart, who is in third place in The Alive with Clive Top 20, is collaborating with the Westport Historical Society to present the "Save the World . . . one child at a time" benefit concert for the Westport Historical Society and Harmony4Kidz, the not-for-profit organization she founded, at the Westport Town Hall on Saturday, February 6, starting at 7 p.m.

Cassandra Kubinski, who is in 11th place in The Alive with Clive Top 20, will be one of the performers, along with Irena, Al Ferrante and Friends, Face4Radio and Hailey KnoxDJ Robby Bridges from WEBE 108 FM will be the Master of Ceremonies.  Tickets are $25 and for children under 12 they're free.

Here is the flier for the event:

The song to be performed at the start of this concert is called "Together We Can Change The World" and is from the musical Letters to Daddy, which was created by Bill Rodman, founder of 4eproductions, in collaboration with Mark Shepard, who wrote the music and lyrics for the musical, John O'Neill, father of Rilee, who plays the lead role in the musical, Joe Mennonna and others.  The video for "Together We Can Change The World," which features Rilee singing with the SIFA Choir from Uganda, is one of the most heartwarming I have ever seen, and it's available for you to see on YouTube at:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFy54NmYPyc

All of the children in the SIFA Choir from Uganda are AIDS orphans. During a recent tour in the United States, the choir raised over $100,000 for the children to take back to Uganda in order to finish building their orphanage and to build new homes for them to live in.

To read the A-M-A-Z-I-N-G sequence of events and coincidences that led to the creation of this song, and the video for it, by Ginny Dye, founder and CEO of Together We Can Change The World, Inc. and all who collaborated with her, go to:

http://www.togetherwecanchangetheworld.com/TWCCTWSong/101

Bill Rodman, Mark Shepard, John O'Neill and the cast of Letters to Daddy including Rilee O'Neill have all been guests on Alive with Clive, and clips from their interviews will be made available for you to see soon.

The closing song for the benefit concert on February 6 will be the song written by Irena, called "Save the World."  You can see a video clip of Irena singing "Save The World" by going to:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwCIBy5XBUE

I will be at this benefit concert at the Westport Town Hall on February 6 and look forward to seeing as many of you as possible there for what is certain to be a spectacular and memorable event.

6.  Girls Rock The Night Concert at Piano's, TONIGHT!

Over the past year, the vivacious and inspiring Kylie Edmond, who is in the # 5 slot in The Alive with Clive Top 20 hosted a wonderful series of concerts with the support of one lucky guy, Robert Daniels, at different venues in and around Manhattan called Girls Rock The Night.  These concerts feature many of the most talented and extraordinary emerging female musicians around.

Tonight, Friday, January 29, the first Girls Rock The Night concert of 2010 will feature five remarkable ladies who have been on Alive with Clive -- Jessica Labus, Athena Reich, Melissa Wrolstad, Kylie Edmond and Kelsey Rauber.  They will be performing with a sixth, Tracy Thorne, upstairs at Piano's, 158 Ludlow Street, in Manhattan, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.  This time, William Rottman will be the lucky guy who performs with them.

If you attend this event, I personally guarantee that you will have a fabulous time and make lots of friends!  So do what you can to be there.

Kylie will also be switching things up next Thursday, February 4, with a concert called Guys Rock The Night at the Sidewalk Cafe, 94 Avenue A, in Manhattan, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., and will be the lucky girl who performs in between sets by Jason Gisser, William Rottman, and Anthony Melillo and The Melillo Brothers.  Again, this is certain to be another terrific evening of great music and making lifelong friends.

7.  Clive's Favorite Quote for the Week

A special thank you to Spike Humer, a friend of mine on Facebook, for bringing this quote to my attention recently:

"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." -- Martin Luther King, Jr.
