1. Feature Story:
An exciting race is developing for . . .
The # 1 Spot on the Alive with Clive Top 20 Music Chart
Only a week has passed since I announced the creation of the Alive with Clive Top 20 to determine the 20 musicians whose songs will be selected for a compilation CD to be sold to raise money for people in South Africa suffering from AIDS.
And already, an exciting race is developing between two outstanding and dynamic emerging musicians.
Enjoying a commanding lead in the voting at the moment is Anthony Melillo, and the musician with the potential to catch him with a concerted effort is Joséphine Ancelle.
To find out more about Anthony and his debut CD, Just Gettin' Started, go to www.myspace.com/melillomusicpro
To learn more about Joséphine, and her debut CD, Unfinished Life, go to www.myspace.com/josephineonmyspace
The first entire Alive with Clive Top 20 Chart will be unveiled on Thursday, July 10, so between now and then additional musicians who have been guests on Alive with Clive will have more time to encourage their fans to vote for them.
In the meantime, Anthony and Joséphine are showing that they have a burning desire to succeed and have the opportunity to distance themselves from the pack if they can cause the votes for them to be sustained and increased on a daily basis. But the question remains: Will the lead they are creating be sufficient to keep them at the top of the chart when more established musicians with a larger base of adoring fans begin to receive votes from their fans? Only time will tell.
Remember, you can vote for a musician as many times as you like, but no more than once a day, so it's going to take a combination of consistent voting by already existing fans and windfall increases in voting by new fans for any of the musicians to maintain their position in or at the top of the Alive with Clive Top 20.
The effort is sure to pay off handsomely because right now I am spending virtually every waking moment thinking of ways to sell 50 million CDs (or a downloadable version of the CD) for $20 each to raise money for people suffering from AIDS, and if a musician is featured on the CD, he or she will gain a vast amount of additional exposure.
While I have some strong ideas as to how to achieve this goal, if you can think of any ways to help me accomplish it, please let me know, if you have not already done so.
In addition, when the first-ever full Alive with Clive Top 20 is revealed, it will be accompanied by a press release featuring the name of the musician who is # 1 on the Alive with Clive Top 20 Music Chart in the headline of the press release, and that press release will be posted on the Internet for music publication editors, radio and TV producers, concert planners and music industry executives to notice, so if you love the musician you are supporting, you have even more reason to do what it takes to keep voting, and to tell your friends to keep voting, for him or her to be in the # 1 spot on the Alive with Clive Top 20!
To gain access to the lists of musicians (and other guests) who have been on Alive with Clive in 2008 and 2007, go to www.alivewithclive.tv

2. See Cassandra Kubinski LIVE at The Cutting Room in New York City on Friday, June 13, at 9.45 p.m.
Cassandra Kubinski has been a guest on Alive with Clive three times and will again be appearing on the show with Firan "4Ron" Chisolm on Friday, June 27.
I've previously mentioned that I've seen her perform many times, and each time I am blown away by her incredible song-writing ability and amazing talent.

If you miss this show, you'll have to wait until August 20 to see her perform on her 25th birthday at The Bitter End at 8 p.m.
If, however, you live in Los Angeles, you can see Cassandra perform at the Borders Bookstore, 1501 Vine Street, Hollywood, CA 90028 on Friday, June 20, at 7 p.m.
