3. A New Candidate For The Alive with Clive Top 20
This past Friday, I also had the pleasure of interviewing another dynamic emerging independent musician by the name of Jerry Cherry, who recently released his debut CD, Life Is Sweeter, which is currently receiving airplay on radio stations across America and is being well-received.
He appeared on The Today Show on NBC with Chubby Checker a week ago. By the way, in 2008 Chubby Checker's song, The Twist, was named the biggest chart hit of all time by Billboard magazine, beating out songs by The Beatles and Elvis, among others. On Alive with Clive, Jerry performed one of the songs from his CD, Turned Around (which is spinning on AC, HOT AC, and TOP 40 stations, and climbing the Spins Tracking System (STS) charts), and a song called Vampires, which will be on his next CD.
He will also be performing with a full band at the Rockwood Music Hall, 196 Allen Street, between Houston and Stanton in Manhattan, on Monday, October 6, at 11 p.m.
Now that he has appeared on Alive with Clive, he too is eligible to be in The Alive with Clive Top 20 and have one of his songs appear on the compilation CD I am creating to raise millions of dollars for people suffering from AIDS in South Africa.
Within the next few weeks, we'll see if he can muster the votes necessary to place him in The Alive with Clive Top 5.

4. What's Happening In The Alive with Clive Top 20
Irena Makarchuk with Bermuda Road, who is currently in the # 2 spot in The Alive with Clive Top 20, continues to close the gap between her and Anthony Melillo faster than a lit fuse attached to a stick of dynamite.

I predict, though, that Anthony Melillo's most ardent fans are not going to take too kindly to this potential threat to his reign at the top of The Alive with Clive Top 20 Chart, and will be hunkering down soon to develop a bold plan to galvanize his legions of supporters to match or even surpass Irena's vote-getting prowess.
Two other shifts occurred this week in The Alive with Clive Top 10: Jeneen Terrana has once again overtaken Cassandra Kubinski to move into the # 4 spot on the Chart, and Jessica Labus has overtaken Joséphine Ancelle and Lisa Redford to claim the # 8 spot on the Chart.
Also worth noting is that Dan Sheehan has just joined the ranks of musicians with 100 or more votes. Congratulations, Dan!

5. Irena's Benefit Concert For Harmony4Kidz is TONIGHT!
As a reminder, Irena Makarchuk and her band, Bermuda Road, will be performing at the Highline Ballroom on 16th Street between 9th and 10th Avenues in Manhattan TONIGHT, Sunday, September 21, 2008, at 7 p.m. at the second annual "Artists Who Care" benefit concert she is organizing for Harmony4Kidz.
Tickets are available for $25.00 online and $28.00 at the door. During the evening, auditions will also be held for the Harmony4Kidz reality TV show. People will also have a chance to submit their artwork, poetry, and music to be considered for publication in the Harmony4Kidz upcoming book and Mix CD. Submissions for any Harmony4Kidz projects will only be accepted at the event.

6. The Two Brand New CDs I Received This Week
This week I became the proud owner of two brand new CDs that have just been released by musicians in The Alive with Clive Top 10:
The first is Anthony Melillo's magnificent and heartwarming debut CD, Just Gettin' Started, which was given to me by his proud parents, Joanne and Ray.
Beautiful packaging. Art work that grabs you. I might be old fashioned, but I still believe that you simply cannot get nearly as much joy from downloading songs from iTunes or Rhapsody as you can by breaking the cellophane wrapping on a brand new CD created with mega-doses of thought, creativity and tender loving care.
Anthony's CD includes one of the songs he sang on Alive with Clive with his brothers, Joe and Nick, That's My Son -- the song I believe every son wants his parents to hear.
