1. Clive Enters Google's Contest for World-Changing Ideas
In The Alive with Clive TV Show MagEzine I distributed on September 28, 2008, I mentioned that in a press release issued on September 24, 2008, Google announced that it is pledging $10 million to fund charitable projects suggested by Google users to implement ideas that can "change the world by helping as many people as possible."
As part of the Project 10^100 (pronounced Project 10 to the 100th), Google asked its users to submit ideas until yesterday, October 20, 2008, for ways to improve people's lives. Google will choose what it feels are the 100 best ideas and then allow its users to vote on which of them should be funded.
Google received over 100,000 ideas and voting begins on January 27, 2009.
The users will narrow the results to 20 finalists, and a panel of judges will choose up to five ideas that will receive funding.
For more information about the contest and to register to receive a reminder email about when it's time to vote, click here now or copy and paste the following link into your Web browser:

I am delighted to announce that this past Thursday, October 16, 2008, I submitted my application to enter the contest based on my idea to introduce synergistic philanthrocapitalismTM to the world.
As previously mentioned, the concept of creating the Alive with Clive compilation CD with 20 songs from each of the musicians who end up in The Alive with Clive Top 20, and then selling the CD to raise millions of dollars for millions of people suffering from AIDS in South Africa, is one demonstration of synergistic philanthrocapitalismTM in action, and is also an integral part of my quest to gain as much exposure as possible for the musicians in The Alive with Clive Top 20 to help them thrive!
Should my idea be chosen as one of the top 100, I will be asking YOU to vote for ME!
Stay tuned for more information about my Google application, which will be coming your way soon.
2. If You Vote, You Can Win A Copy Of The Passion Test
In last week's edition of The Alive with Clive TV Show MagEzine, in honor of International Passion Day and International Passion Month, I announced that the New York Times bestseller by Chris and Janet Attwood know as The Passion Test is THE FIRST Alive with Clive Book of the Month!
For information about the book and to see a remarkably inspiring short movie about living your life with passion, click here now or copy and paste the following link into your Web browser:

To celebrate this announcement, everyone who has voted or votes for a musician or band up to be in The Alive with Clive Top 20 -- by providing their first and last name and email address -- is being entered in a drawing to win one of five FR*EE copies of The Passion Test Janet and Chris Attwood have kindly agreed to send to the winners. The more times you vote, the greater will be your chance of winning one of the five FR*EE copies of The Passion Test, and musicians who vote for themselves are also eligible to win one of the five FR*EE books too. The drawing will take place sometime before the end of the year, and the exact date will be announced within the next few weeks.
So now, when you vote, not only do you:
1. Gain immediate access to all the fabulous life-enriching bonuses available to everyone who votes and
2. Give a boost to the musician or band you are supporting.
You can also
3. Win a copy of The Passion Test -- which I believe ought to be mandatory reading for everyone on the planet!
3. New Contenders in The Alive with Clive Top 20
This past Friday, I had the pleasure of interviewing another two dynamic emerging and exceptionally talented musicians who have become the latest contenders for a spot in The Alive with Clive Top 20.
My first guest was Joe Venice, a charismatic up-and-coming young singer/songwriter with a heartwarming outlook on life. Recently he participated in the hit CW Television Network show, Gossip Girl, and the popular NBC show, The Lipstick Jungle. Joe was also chosen to do the promotional shoot for the MTV Film, Prom Night, which gained him national exposure.
On Alive with Clive, Joe sang two of his songs, Every and Fall Apart.
For more information about Joe Venice, and to hear Every and Fall Apart and other songs he sings, go to www.myspace.com/joevenicenow
My second guest was Joe Travers, a thoughtful, insightful and multi-faceted singer/songwriter with his finger on the pulse of a broad range of social issues. For those of you who've been opposed to America's involvement in the Iraq war, you'll be in awe of his brilliant song called Art of War, which is available for you to hear on his My Space page.
On Alive with Clive, Joe performed Call It America, which was inspired by a bomb scare he experienced on a subway in mid-town Manhattan a few years ago and is a particularly appropriate song for these times, as well as another touching song with which I immediately fell in love, called Without Love. From my perspective, Joe Travers is an undiscovered national treasure destined to take his place among such legendary singer/songwriters as Neil Young and Willie Nelson.
For more information about Joe , go to www.joetravers.net and to hear Art of War, Call It America, Without Love and other songs he sings, go to www.myspace.com/joetravers
Also, you can see Joe perform live on Monday, October 27, at the Parkside Lounge, 317 East Houston (between B and C) at 7.30 p.m. There's a $5 cover and and a two-drink minimum.
4. What's Happening in The Alive with Clive Top 20
The number 100 features prominently in the description of what has happened in The Alive with Clive Top 20 this past week for four reasons.
First, Jessica Labus now has more than 100 votes, and remains firmly ensconced in 8th place in The Alive with Clive Top 20. Her debut CD, Screams and Whispers, is being released soon, and she will be appearing on Alive with Clive again on December 19, 2008. Congratulations, Jessica, on reaching this important milestone on The Alive with Clive Top 20 Chart! For more information about Jessica, go to www.myspace.com/jessicalabus
Second, Jeneen Terrana crossed the 200-vote threshold to remain in fifth place in The Alive with Clive Top 20! Well done, Jeneen!
Third, Irena Makarchuk has continued her remarkable vote-getting streak and, as the finishing touches were being added to this Ezine, crossed the 600-vote threshold. She now has 607 votes.
Fourth, Irena has now cracked the 100-plus vote barrier that separated her from Anthony Melillo and is currently just 85 votes behind Anthony, who remains in the # 1 position on The Alive with Clive Top 20 Chart with a most impressive total of 692 votes.
Will Irena simply close the gap and then overtake Anthony within the next couple of weeks, or will Anthony invent new ways to inspire his fans to put more distance between him and her?
Only time will tell in what is becoming a fascinating and most intriguing duel involving these two dedicated and compassionate musicians who are playing with all their heart to be at the top of The Alive with Clive Top 20 Chart!

5. Clive's Favorite Quote For The Week
The guy who penned the quote for this week is none other than yours truly. I thought of it this past Sunday as I was thinking about how essential it is for us to have the most current technology to enable us to get to where we want to be as quickly as possible. And, in case you are wondering, I do have it filed in the category "Note to Self." Who knows, maybe in a few hundred years -- or possibly in only a few hundred weeks, days or hours -- from now, this quote will be used to influence the purchasing decisions in boardrooms all over the world. Enjoy!
"You cannot get to the moon riding in a horse-drawn carriage with a buggy whip." -- Clive Swersky
