People Of The World:

Let's Raise At Least A Billion Dollars For People Affected By HIV/AIDS In South Africa By December 1, 2013, World AIDS Day THIS YEAR -- Because We Can -- With Only $1 Or More From You And Only $1 Or More From Your Family And Friends Too!

Hi, my name is Clive Swersky, I am the Host and Producer of Alive with Clive -- The TV Show That Inspires You To Multiply Your Magnificence! and the Creator of The FIRST Alive with Clive Top 20 compilation of songs.

For the past four years, it has been my goal to raise at least a billion dollars for people affected by HIV/AIDS in South Africa.

With World AIDS Day approaching on December 1, 2012, in the first half of July, 2012, I began to wonder how I can raise at least a billion dollars for people affected by HIV/AIDS in South Africa with The FIRST Alive with Clive Top 20 compilation of songs by December 1, 2012.

I then found myself asking this question, which I posted on Facebook on July 12, 2012:

"If you raise money for an important cause, you raise $1 on Day 1 and on every day after that you raise double the amount you raised on the previous day, in how many days will you have raised a billion dollars?"

To determine the answer, I created an Excel Spreadsheet, built in a formula to do the calculation and then allowed the software to provide me with the answer.

Here's the picture of the incremental daily increases that give a total of more than a billion dollars in just 31 days!

We also know that by now Facebook has almost a billion users, and when I was watching the opening ceremony of The Olympics on Saturday, July 28, 2012, I heard one of the announcers mention that a billion people were watching the opening ceremony.

In other words, we clearly have the technology to unite at least a billion people in a common endeavor!

My attempt to raise at least a billion dollars in 2012 did not gain momentum, so I am keeping this Web page alive to give you the opportunity to make donations to this cause for 2013 and receive the bonuses for making a donation.

So please click here now or on the Donate button below to donate $1 or more to people affected by HIV/AIDS in South Africa, and ask your family and friends to do so too.  All net proceeds will go to The Global Fund To Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

According to reports from WHO/UNAIDS/UNICEF, in 2009 an estimated 5.6 million people were living with HIV and AIDS in South Africa, the highest number of people in any country, and 310,000 South Africans died of AIDS-related causes.  Prevalence is 17.8 percent among those aged 15-49, with younger adults being particularly affected.

More than 1,000 children are newly infected with HIV every day, and of these more than half will die as a result of AIDS because of a lack of access to HIV treatment.  Millions more children every year are indirectly affected by the epidemic as a result of the death and suffering caused in their families and communities.

At the end of 2010:

*  3.4 million children under 15 were living with HIV around the world;

 *  An estimated 390,000 children became newly infected with HIV in 2010;

*  Of the 1.8 million people who died of AIDS in 2010, one in seven were children;

*  Every hour, around 30 children die as a result of AIDS;

*  There are more than 16 million children under the age of 18 who have lost one or both parents to AIDS;

*  Most children living with HIV/AIDS -- almost 9 in 10 -- live in sub-Saharan Africa, the region of the world where AIDS has taken its greatest toll;

*  Nine out of ten children infected with HIV were infected through their mother either during pregnancy, labor and delivery, or breastfeeding;

*  Without treatment, around 15 to 30 percent of babies born to HIV positive women will become infected with HIV during pregnancy and delivery, and a further 5 to 20 percent will become infected through breastfeeding.

In high-income countries, preventative measures ensure that the transmission of HIV from mother-to-child is relatively rare, and when it does occur a range of treatment options is available to ensure that children survive -- often into adulthood.  With funding, trained staff and resources, the infections and deaths of many thousands of children can be avoided.

While encouraging progress is being made to counter the debilitating effects of HIV/AIDS in South Africa and other parts of the world, it is vital and imperative that additional funds continue to be made available so more people can receive life-saving antiretroviral treatment, and the impact of HIV/AIDS for children and their families and communities can be alleviated.

With attention, resources and your participation in this endeavor, we can help to revitalize health for millions of people with HIV/AIDS, as well as their families and their communities, in South Africa.

So please click here now or on the Donate button below to donate $1 or more to people affected by HIV/AIDS in South Africa, and ask your family and friends to do so too.  All net proceeds will go to The Global Fund To Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
