While you can’t “Outrun the Night,” as Kate Mills sings in one of her newest songs, the night becomes immensely enjoyable if you’re spending it at a concert at Rockwood Music Hall to hear Kate sing her songs!
Over the past couple of months, Kate embarked on a tour with several stops including shows on the West Coast and appearances at the Bowery Vault in Nashville; the Ladybug Festival in Wilmington, Delaware; the Huntington Folk Festival on Long Island, New York; and Musikfest in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Though she is originally from Pennsylvania, she is now based in New York City.
So her show at Rockwood Music Hall this past Tuesday thus represented a homecoming for her.
And she most definitely felt right at home surrounded on stage by her band mates, including her husband, Joseph Anthony Secchiaroli, on bass by her side.
On a side note, Kate mentioned during the show that she and Joseph just celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary – so, Congratulations, Kate and Joseph!
Other members of her band for her show were Georgios Pesios on guitar, Rocco DellaNeve on piano, and Rodney Flood on drums.
Early on in her set, Kate announced that the first single she will be releasing from her new album is going to be “Honest Mistakes.”
