These are thoughts you’re bound to have after you’ve seen compelling singer-songwriter, Eve Lesov, perform.
Born and raised in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, and now based in Brooklyn, New York, Eve built upon her classical music education at home to front an alternative rock band that appeared on national TV and won prizes before immigrating to the United States in 2003.
With influences that include Radiohead, Portishead, Bjork, Blonde Redhead, Tori Amos and Depeche Mode, Eve fronted local alternative band, The Orphans, for the release of that band’s EP, Time’s Up, in 2007; released her own EP, Phobia, in 2011; and now also writes lyrics and sings lead vocals for Somatic Moon, a studio band based out of New York City that combines a unique blend of indie rock, singer-songwriter, alternative, pop and trip-hop music.

While “The Moon Is Here” and “Rainboots” are inspired by loving thoughts about friends, for “Maniac” Eve tapped into feelings associated with the opposite end of the friendship spectrum to sing about someone with whom she became disenchanted.
“Believe” is a powerful affirmation for you to believe in yourself, your talent and your dream, and after you hear “I Will Pray for You,” you can do so knowing that Eve is with you in spirit to support you!
“Perry Street” is a song for that time in your life when you realize you’ve hit rock bottom and you’re about to build the next phase of your life on that solid foundation with a new mindset, unencumbered by anchors that have been holding you back.
“Dear Sun” is a light-hearted uplifting song involving the theft of the front wheel of Eve’s bicycle while she was on the beach enjoying the rays of the sun.
And in “American Male,” a true masterpiece, Eve combines her brilliant wit with her deft songwriting skills to shine a satirical spotlight on embellishments of traits to encourage online responses for the purposes of getting hitched to obtain a green card and citizenship in America.
Here’s a little behind-the-scenes tidbit you might like to know about Eve: For her shows, as you’ll see in the image above, she writes notes to herself on pages that say “U R A-MAZING”
